Sunday, December 16th, 2007

This past Sunday was an amazing morning of worship led by the choirs of First and Ascension Lutheran Churches. It was an exciting morning for these two SPARK partners. Revolving around the theme of “refreshed with hope,” the choirs did a variety of ethnic music that stirred hearts and imagination in the packed sanctuary. A amazing morning was had by all, thank you musicians!

This past week we kicked off our new Advent series: what are you waiting for? Advent is the time of waiting for Jesus to be born, in the Christian tradition. We wait expectantly, but also looking at ourselves and community to prepare our hearts.
John Hierlinger was our guest preacher last Sunday. Thank you, John! We’ll also be looking at the Gospel of Matthew is our adult forum. Join us!

New Carpet at FLC

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Sounds kind of normal…carpet. Carpet, though, tells a story of who has been there and the God that calls us all into community. FLC will have new sanctuary carpet installed this Thursday. We hope it helps us become more hospitable with a greater sense that we are blessed with every new set of feet or wheels that come across it!
Peace to your house!

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Imagine 800 people worshiping together. It was a reality On November 25th as all four SPARK churches gathered a Westwood for a wonderful joint service. Three children were baptized into God’s family, and God encouraged everyone there that partnership is key to our future! What a great day!
