Living Life in Troubled Times (October 5, 12, 19, 2008)
One shade of meaning in the Hebrew translation of the word “salvation” is to make space. How do we make space in our lives for authentic community when we are rushed out the door by the fears of troubled times? A financial crisis, rising costs of food, a war in Iraq, unemployment; we are not immune to these challenges. Our poorer neighbors are directly influenced! What resources of our faith, what life giving practices do we lean on to discover hope for living life in troubled times? Paul’s letters from prison may just have some ideas.
