What would you do?

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Homeless person on the street is holding a sign asking for help; what do you do?
A.) Fast food gift certificates, B.) a couple of dollars, C.) the number/directions for a local shelter, D.) pretend not to notice. We all have varied responses to immediate needs in our community, but we also have the responsibility to address the larger systems that keep people homeless and hungry.

Join us on January 18th, 7:30PM as Rabbi Aaron Brusso and Pastor Kevin Bergeson address making a difference through social action from Jewish and Christian perspectives at Harvest Moon Coffee Shop (next to SLP City Hall). You’ll enjoy great food and an opportunity for a different conversation about how two faith traditions approach caring for the most vulnerable in our world.

ALSO, February 22nd, 1PM, join us by putting our conversation into action through a joint volunteer event with the St. Louis Park Emergency Program (originally founded by a partnership of Jews and Christians).
